ILASS Americas was a great conference where I was able to showcase my work on precision agriculture. After reviewing 170 experiments and studying the limitations of the AGDISP model we concluded:
1) UASS generate complex, vehicle-specific wake effects that influence spray deposition.
2) The lower the disc loading the better. Small high speed stacked rotors will generate more violent airflow at the ground than larger slower rotors.
3) GPS is accurate, but the vehicles follow waypoints making waypoint spacing a significant source of accuracy error when spraying a line
4)Boom width is less of a driver of swath width than the vehicle except at extreme widths where the boom can escape the rotor wake (i.e. 300% of vehicle width)
